Large Comedy Ringing Production Clock - Jim Sommers
2" x 9 1/2" dia. Chromed front, paper face glued on with metal moving hands. A large loop to hold it and a large top knob that makes a loud winding noise when turned, as if winding the clock. The back of the clock is actually a "Sears" aluminum cake pan" It has the "SEARS" & "Sears, Roebuck and Co." Hallmark stamped into the bottom of the pan.
The lever next to the top loop when pressed, allows the clock to ring very loud. (the bell winds up on the inside, it is not electronic, so it works well). Continue to press all the way and....Wham! The clock face falls opens and falls & hangs open by a hinge, a gear comes flying out on a long spring and the insides with all the gears exposed (see photo)
An impressive and quite unique production item you can produce from your Square Circle or other large production apparatus. Perhaps have it hanging on the back of your table and steal it away with a large group of silks you've produced?
Pretty much a one-of-a-kind, made by Jim Sommers for his use in shows.
