Haenchen Production Box. Oklahoma: Haenchen & Co., ca. 1950. A production box that operates similar to a square circle, but on a pedestal wooden base. the cabinet is made of wood with metal front mesh & locking top hinged frame, which holds the 4 sides up. all 4 outer doors hinged to base, load chamber is removable. 12 x 5 ½ x 5 ½”.
The working is ingenious! The inner all metal box has a hinged bottom so when it's put into the top chest, the bottom opens to allow the large metal load chamber to secretly load inside, after you have shown the inner box empty. It's an ingenious idea since they saw the box empty with a bottom. Putting it inside the chest on the pedestal loads the box ready to produce large amounts or a large 6 foot silk. It's all black art like a Square Circle, but with the sides folding down and showing the inside of the box after raising the sides, it's so fool proof!
Hand decorated by Fred's wife, this is one of Haenchen's better pieces that is pretty hard to find these days.
This is Hallmarked with one of Haenchen's small stickers on the bottom, which is worn, but still readable up close. The bottom has red felt, with some wear
This comes with a copy of the Haenchen instructions and routine
CONDITION: FN (Few spots of light paint wear, barely seen unless you pick it up and close inspect it) It's a great piece in wonderful condition.
